GameStop Makes Entry in Tablet Biz: Opens Nationwide Retail Stores

GameStop
is making foray in the tablet biz, with over 1,600 stores countrywide now containing an assortment of best Android tablets.

Retail shops will have tablets from tech biggies like Acer, Samsung, Asus, and Toshiba, each crammed with pre-set up software together with free games.

And, a few GameStop shops will have the Asus Transformer Prime plus TF300T, Samsung Galaxy Tab, in addition to Acer Iconia series.

Each tablet will boast a collection of free games, the Kongragate gaming application program, together with an issue of Game Informer Digital.

A local GameStop store, where the salesperson confirmed that the 5 free games comprised are Riptide GP, Sonic CD, Shadowgun, Cordy, and Sleepy Jack.

This is not GameStops initial entry in the tablet market, but its a major novel step.

Late 2011, GameStop ran a trial amassing Android tablets in 200 of its stores that has proven victorious enough for a more national launch.

GameStop stores already hold renovated iPads that are sold as is without any pre-installed apps or games.

GameStop is also making an augmented push for digital markets, rolling out its GameStop Mobile service earlier this year for smartphones.
